JHK Instrumental Residency Jazz Lab challenged, developed and encouraged the skills of student musicians during a week-long residency at Newark Performing Arts High School. The nations oldest performing arts high school hosted the world-class musicians from the Christian McBride Band which includes Christian McBride (bs), Geoffrey Keezer (pn), Ron Blake (sax) and Terreon Gully (dm) for an intensive classroom and performance-based jazz program, sponsored in part by Chamber Music America. In addition to a concert for their peers, Arts High's Omega Jazz Ensemble performed together with the members of the Christian McBride Band for two additional concerts at a middle school and a long term care facility.
